Surfing

Ucluelet has some great surf beaches just a short drive away. Please be aware of the dangers of rip currents and be respectful to other surfers in the water. All of the beaches change from season to season and the quality of the surf depends greatly on the weather and the tide.

Visit the local surf shops to find out about current conditions. In the summer the waves are generally small and calm. In the winter the conditions can be unpredictable and the waves substancial. Long Beach is the only area that has life guard supervision, and that is only in the summer months.
