Fifth Annual Mushroom Festival October 13th- This mushroom-packed day starts with a pancake breakfast, viewing table, guided tour, and mushroom-inspired arts, crafts and books. There will also be a mushroom Derby, cooking contest, dinner, slide show, and the night finishes with the "Toadstool Stomp," a dance featuring a live band. It all takes place at the Community hall in East Bamfield at 9am. For more information contact 250.723.3551. |

Organic Gardening October 13th- Learn simple ways to grow the greatest amount of delicious organic food in a small garden or greenhouse for the least amount of work. Linda Gilkeson will instruct the class from 9:30am to 4pm. For more information or to register call 726.4772. |

Eight on the Edge Race October 27th- An 8km run/ walk in support of the Wild Pacific Trail Society. Sponsored by the Ucluelet Recreation Department. The race starts at 9am at the Ucluelet Sports Field Parking Lot, Forbes Road. $20 regular fee, or $40 for family (4 participants). Register Today! Contact 250.726.4772 to volunteer. |
